“He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.”
I’ve tried a lot of jobs and money-making schemes over the 28 years of my life. Some of them have done well, and some have failed miserably. Yet, I am beginning to learn that the journey is more important than the result.
If I truly believe the first chapter in the book of Psalms, I must believe that whatever I do will prosper, if I meditate on God’s word. In spite of all that I have done, both successes and failures, I am prospering. And the only credit must go to God.
Here is a quick list of all the jobs I have tried over the last dozen years of my life:
- Farm Worker
- Drywall laborer
- General construction laborer
- Inventory specialist
- Blueberry Farm manager trainee
- Rental property owner
- Real Estate Agent
- Blog Writer
- Content Writer
- Car Salesman
- Day Trader
- Mobile Home Flipper
- Store Fixture Manufacturer
- Office Cleaning
- Vacuum Salesman
- Network Marketing
These are only what come to mind after thinking about it for five minutes. I’m sure there are some that I forgot to mention. I’m also sure that there will be more even this year. These jobs all have a story attached and life lessons learned. They have helped to mold and make me into the person I am today.
This blog is meant to be a conduit and platform for me to share what God has allowed me to learn. It may be a little disconnected in its content but my hope is that it is all beneficial.
I encourage feedback, suggestions, and questions.
To Kyah, my beautiful 6-month-old daughter,
I may not be much of a talker as you grow up. But I have a lot I have learned. And I have a lot that I will continue to learn. Maybe this can serve as a diary, or legacy, of my life that you can read in many years. Throughout these posts, you will learn what I have learned about myself, about God, and about life.
